DR OLORI SAMSON, MBBS, FWACS. A is Fellow of the West African College of Surgeon in Paediatric Surgery and is a Chief Consultant Paediatric Surgeon. He established the Division of Paediatric Surgery of the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital in 2007. He did his residency training at the University of Jos Teaching Hospital. During the period of his training, he had rotations at the Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital, Zaria, Kaduna state and the Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital Complex, Ile Ife, Osun state. In his quest for more knowledge and capacity to meet the health needs of the paediatric surgical population he was awarded scholarship for training in Paediatric urology and Laparoscopy at the Chung Gung Memorial Hospital Taiwan in 2019. He is the current Vice President of the Association of Paediatric Surgeons of Nigeria (APSON) and the Coordinator of the Association’s update course for candidates preparing for both the West African College of Surgeons and the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria Part Two (final) examination in paediatric surgery. He served as head of Department of Surgery from 2012-2014 and Head, Division of Paediatric surgery from 2008 to 2016. He was the Coordinator of postgraduate training in surgery department from 2009 to 2012. He is a devote Christian who believes in salvation by the confession of Jesus Christ as personal Lord and saviour. He is married with children, and loves reading, teaching and writing Christian literatures.

Being part of the collaborative studies with Global surgery has opened new vista of opportunity in clinical research for me. It has also created opportunity for mentoring of younger colleagues in my institution on best practices for impactful clinical studies.
