Dr Opeoluwa Adesanya MBBS, FMCS, Principal Investigator at the Federal Medical Centre, Abeokuta, is a Consultant Pediatric Surgeon, who has been an active participant in Global Surgery Collaborative Group since inception. He had his undergraduate medical education at University of Ibadan while his postgraduate training in Pediatric Surgery was at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, Lagos. His research interests include Pediatric Surgery Outcomes and Global Surgery

Global surgery is a noble initiative which seeks to improve access to quality surgical services across the globe with particular focus on underserved populations and countries in conflict and disaster situations. The Global surgery collaborative group, has provided a unique platform for focused research on challenges in delivery of surgical services worldwide, generating data which have been useful in advocacy for better funding by relevant institutions. The platform has also served to impact necessary knowledge and training to aspiring surgical researchers.
